Masala chai

Masala chai



– 400 ml water
– 400 ml milk
– 8 cloves
– 3 cinnamon sticks
– 8 cardamom pods
– 3 tsp loose black tea
– 6 tsp sugar (to taste)


Fill a pan with 400 ml water and add the cardamom pods, cinnamon and cloves. Put a lid on the pan and bring it to the boil. Next, set the stove to a low temperature and let it stand for 10 minutes or so, before adding sugar and milk and bringing everything to the boil. Add the black tea and let the whole pan cool down with the lid still on. Wait another 3 minutes before pouring the tea into cups.
