My greenhouse

My greenhouse in July

The vegetable garden can just do its thing in the summer. After all, the chance of frost is very low. I love that! I pop out enthusiastically with my basket to collect the summer vegetables. Artichokes, for example, because I love to eat them in a salad. And the trusty cucumber, rocket, spinach, radish. Then pak choi, which is great for oriental dishes.

Greek tzatziki

And don’t forget the garlic, this is ready to pick in the early summer. What could be more delicious with your barbecued chicken or pasta dish than home-grown garlic?

  • Pour around 500 ml of Greek Yoghurt into a pretty dish, along with half a grated cucumber. Add olive oil, mint, pepper and salt. Then squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. Make sure you don’t get any pips in the tzatziki, as it will be hard to  nd them again. Crush 3 to 5 garlic cloves over the top and voilà!

Oh yes, keep it in the fridge before serving.
