In the heel of Italy’s boot is the beautiful region of Puglia. Centuries-old villages dotted around idyllic landscapes with olive trees, sea views and beautiful beaches. This is where you can experience the real Italy. Here you will find Alberobello, home of the trulli, where there are thousands of these traditional stone huts along the winding roads. Locorotondo with its many narrow streets is surely one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. And Matera, the city carved from rocks, is one of the oldest settlements in the world. Ostuni, the white city of Puglia, is found spread over three hills at 218 metres above sea level. From Cisternino there are beautiful views over the Valle d’Itria. And for anyone who would rather spend a day relaxing on the beach, there are the coastal towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli. In short, there’s something for everyone in this area.
