A cherry blossom branch made of cotton pads

Sometimes you come across someone on Instagram and immediately want to know more about them. That’s what happened when I saw the beautiful creations by Pauline Pasternak from Munich. Using simple materials, she creates charming decorations, full of softness, color, and imagination. I was curious about the woman behind all that beauty and discovered a story in which creativity has played an important role since she was a child. She creates beautiful works of art.

Pauline wanted to share her creative recipe with us! Now we can all get started with cotton pads, paint, and a little imagination. Thank you, Pauline, for letting us enjoy your beautiful idea. It’s almost hard to believe that this blossom branch is made from simple cotton pads. A charming eye-catcher for any home.

Here’s what you’ll need:
– round cotton pads
– scissors
– acrylic paint
– wood glue or liquid craft glue
– water
– glue gun
– large decorative branch

Step 1

Cut out the blossoms. Fold a cotton pad in half twice and cut the outer edge into a rounded shape. Unfold it again: you’ll end up with a flower with four petals. To make a full branch, Pauline used about four to five packs of cotton pads.

Step 2

Prepare the paint mixture. Mix three parts acrylic paint with one part wood glue or craft glue. Then add about 300 milliliters of water and stir well until the mixture is smooth.

Step 3

Shape the blossoms. Dip the blossoms into the mixture and gently squeeze out the excess. Open the petals, curve them slightly upward, and gently pinch the backs together to create a natural shape.

Step 4

Let everything dry thoroughly. Place the flowers on a washable tablecloth or a piece of plastic wrap to dry. This will prevent them from sticking together. Once they’re dry, they’ll feel sturdier and retain their shape nicely.

Step 5

Attach the flowers Use a glue gun to attach the blossoms to the branch. You can glue the flowers on individually or arrange them in small clusters first before placing them on the branch. This creates a natural look.

And then comes the most beautiful moment: a simple branch transforms into a gorgeous branch of blossoms full of charm.

Are you going to make this?
Love, Daphne
