Handmade bookmarks

As a reader, I always use bookmarks to keep track of my reading process—no dog-eared corners here! Today, I want to share a fun DIY with you: I’ve made my own bookmarks completely from scratch. Not only are they easy and fun to make, but they also turn out super cute! Plus, there are countless creative options for bookmarks that you can make. Think flowers, or if you love animals, maybe a bee, or go completely different and try a geometric shape—the possibilities are endless. This time, I chose two adorable butterflies and a lovely bow.

Whether you’re a beginner crafter or a seasoned DIY enthusiast, making bookmarks is a great way to express your creativity while marking your books in a fun way. Making these cute bookmarks is simple, and the result is definitely worth it. Bookmarks are not only practical but can also add a personal touch to your books and reading experience. What You’ll Need:

  • A pencil
  • A ruler
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Markers

The Steps:

  1. Take a piece of paper and fold it in half.
  2. Then, draw half of your chosen shape on the open side of the paper. I’ve chosen a butterfly. (Make sure you draw it on the right side!)
  3. Use your ruler to draw two lines from the butterfly to the end of the paper.
  4. Cut out the bookmark and fold the wings outward.
  5. Lastly, color your bookmark and use it for your next book or to keep track of your agenda.
