Leaves of clay

When I see the first leaves fluttering to the ground, I immediately feel inspired to create something with them. During a walk, I picked up a few beautiful leaves. Once home, I got to work with the leaves and clay. Little works of art from nature itself: candle holders and pendants featuring the veins and shapes of real leaves.

Supplies:
– air-drying clay or oven-baking clay
– leaves with distinct veins
– rolling pin
– sharp knife
– string
– small bowl
– tea light
– toothpick
– paint

Here’s how to make them:
1. Roll out a sheet of clay about 0.5 cm thick. Place the leaf on the clay with the veins facing down. Gently roll over it so that the leaf pattern is clearly visible.

2. Cut along the edges of the sheet to remove the shape from the clay.

3. Place the leaf in a small bowl so that it forms a slight hollow.

4. Next, press a tea light firmly into the center and then remove it. This is where your light will go later. Let it dry now. Once the leaf has hardened completely, you can carefully paint it and add some color.

Fall Leaf Pendant
Use a skewer to poke a hole in the leaf. Let it dry flat. Once your pendant has hardened completely, thread a piece of string through the hole, and your pendant is ready! You can also give it a coat of paint.
