Teapot house for the birds

There’s something lovely about turning forgotten items into something new for the garden. A simple teapot, cup and saucer, and a few wooden pieces can become a charming little home for visiting birds.

It doesn’t have to be perfect a bit of character only adds to its appeal. Birds care far more about feeling safe than about neat finishes or straight lines.

With just a little effort, you’ll create a cozy teapot house that brings life, movement, and a touch of storybook charm to your garden.

You will need:

– teapot

– cup and saucer

– planks of wood

– drill

– saw

– screws

A teapot can really brighten up your garden. Make sure the hole isn’t too big. Glue a piece of wood in the opening and drill a hole about 3 cm wide in the centre.

Using a masonry drill, carefully make a hole in the base of the teapot too, so you can secure it to a plank of wood. You could make a little roof and a holder for the saucer as well.

Now your teapot house is ready for its first residents! Birds don’t mind if their house is square, round, yellow, red or blue. As long as they feel safe and protected inside.

You can fill the teacup under the house with water or even some birdseed.
