Dipped strawberries

These strawberries are perfect for a special occasion. They’re delicious to eat and fun to make too.

Chocolate strawberries

You will need 

– 25 strawberries
– 200 g chocolate, your preference of white, milk or dark
– 4 sachets of ready-made icing
– decorations like sprinkles, hundreds and thousands and silver balls
– food colouring
– a skewer to create lines if you like

How to make them

Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie (a heat-resistant bowl placed over a pan of simmering water). It’s important to make sure the bottom of the bowl isn’t touching the water. Allow the chocolate to melt slowly, stirring constantly. Divide the melted chocolate between four bowls and cover four plates with decorations. Add a couple of drops of food colouring to each bowl. Stir the food colouring until the colour is even. It’s fun to use a few different colours. Now pick each strawberry up by the stalk (don’t remove these) and dip then in either the chocolate or the icing before rolling them in the decorations. If you want to add a second coat of chocolate or some lines, you’ll need to wait until the first coat has cooled and set. Now arrange the strawberries on a pretty plate and enjoy!
