Rebecca Farwell – Seamstress

I like to introduce my creative friend: Rebecca Farwell

Rebecca makes memory roses, born out of her own personal circumstances and a desire to help others. Her husband, Keith, died suddenly, and like almost every widow, she was faced with the question of what to do with his clothes. Then she saw a Facebook post: a widow sharing a photo of a memory bear made from her husband’s clothes.

Rebecca has always been creative, so she decided to put her sewing skills to use and try making one herself — using one of Keith’s beloved Hawaiian shirts.

She showed the bear to others, and people began asking if she could make one for them too. And so, Becky’s Bears was born. Over time, she created hundreds of memory bears.

Fast forward a few years, and it was time to try something a little different.

Someone asked her if anyone made memory roses from clothing, as her stepdaughter wanted some created from her father’s clothes for her wedding bouquet. It seemed like such a lovely idea, but Rebecca couldn’t find anyone offering this service. So once again, she experimented — and created her first memory roses.

When she thought about how these roses could be used in weddings, so many possibilities came to mind. And they’re not just for weddings — Rebecca places them in vases next to photos, they make beautiful floral tributes, and they’re a sweet way to use baby clothes to remember those precious early days as little ones grow up.

And so, she created The Memory Rose Company. Rebecca hopes these roses will bring comfort, joy, and cherished memories to others.

Love, Daphne
