Filled backed apples

Ingredients to serve 4:

• 4 large apples
• 4 tbsp almond flour
• 4 heaped tsp honey
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• 30 g hazelnuts
• 30 g pecans
• pinch of dried cinnamon
• butter to brush

These backed apples filled with nuts, cinnamon and honey are perfect for the cozy days. A delicious, warm treat.


Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Slice off the tops of the apples and scoop out the insides using an apple corer or a teaspoon. Chop the nuts finely and mix them with the lemon juice, almond flour, honey and dried cinnamon in a large bowl. Use this nut mixture to fill the hollow apples.

Wet the round side of the spoon under the tap and then press the filling flat. Brush the tops of the apples with some melted butter and then place them on top of the filled bases. Bake the apples in the oven for about 20 minutes. They’re delicious served with some ice cream or whipped cream.
