• a pinch of salt
  • 110 ml milk
  • 40 g butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • some extra milk to brush

Add the self-raising flour, cubes of butter, sugar, salt and milk to a bowl. Stir until the mixture is clumpy and then knead to create a supple and soft dough. Make scones about 5 cm across and arrange these on a baking sheet covered with baking parchment. Brush the tops with a little milk and bake the scones for 12-15 minutes at 220 °C. Then top them with a delicious layer of clotted cream and jam. Absolutely delicious!
