Lavender Latte

Lavendel Latte

In the evening, everything usually finally settles down a bit here at home. I like to make it a cosy moment with a simple cup of sleeping tea and a good book. Nothing fancy, but for me it works fine to let the day slip away from me.

The other day, however, there was a slight change in my regular routine. Charlotte, a good friend of mine, came up with a special recipe: a lavender latte. “But lattes are with coffee, aren’t they?” I asked her a little puzzled. Charlotte explained to me that you can also make a tasty latte with different types of tea. And lavender would then give that extra push to sleep well. After all, it has a relaxing effect and could help with sleep.

Well, I liked that idea, so I gave it a try. And guess what? It’s a hit. My evenings are now just that little bit more special with such a warm, fragrant lavender latte. Which is why I am also happy to share this recipe with you.

What you need

  • lavender tea
  • barista milk of your choice
  • 1 drop of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • cinnamon (optional)

How to make a lavender latte

1. Boil some water and make a small cup of lavender tea. Let it steep for 5 minutes.

2. Warm up your milk and then froth it. If you have an automatic milk frother, you can skip the heating.

3. Add the vanilla extract and honey to the tea and stir.

4. Pour your frothed milk over the lavender tea.

5. Sprinkle some more cinnamon and lavender over your latte, according to your preference.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did.

Love, Daphne
